Lavender Eye Pillow Review from Eye Pillow Vacation

Press Sample: Product given by the Company for Testing and Review Purposes

Before this post I have never heard of an eye pillow. So I was curious to see and feel what it was and what it does.

First it's definately a pillow that feels like a bean bag. It is filled with flaxseed and lavender. It smells fantastic and it feels nice.

Ok what are they?
Here's what I got from Wikipedia
At one time, eye pillows were called comfort pillows and were used in sickrooms to ease nightmares and to disguise the scent of illness. Herbs such as flax seed, lavender, chamomile, eucalyptus, and rose petals were used as fillers in eye pillows to help comfort the sick and ease them to sleep. Lavender is said to be a natural anti-depressant and to help with insomnia, stress, and headaches.
But I also read that these pillows are used for relaxation in Yoga, which I don't do.
These pillows come in various shapes and sizes and come in various materials such as silk, cotton, or velvet. Plus they come un scented or with scents.
You can also put them in the freezer or microwave depending on what you need it for.
I recieved a beautiful Turqouise one and unfortunately it's cotton which I would have preferred silk but oh well:)
I placed it on my eyes when I was ready to go to bed. The Lavender is pretty potent but you get acclimated with the scent once you have it on. It does feel a little heavy but I was able to sleep with it. As I tossed and turned I had to remember I had something on my eyes but it fell off then I placed it on my eyes again, and at one point I just cuddled with it under my arm . Lol
When I woke up I felt well rested actually very relaxed. lol  And I didn't get claustrophobic while wearing it compared to how I feel with a regular sleep mask. I can't do sleep masks.
I do think this is more for naps or relaxation times in the daytime. If I still worked in corporate this would definately be in my work bag lol
Must you own one?
This is definately not a must have product but it's pretty cool to own one for when you do get stressed out, just the scent of Lavender smells nice and has a soothing and calming effect.
I have not tried it to ease any headaches who knows it might work. But I have yet to find that out.

A demo on how it looks placed on my eyes:)
Ahh Lavender and it really does have a cooling effect without putting it in the freezer so that's nice.
