Mini Cherry Filled Love Pies

It doesn’t have to be Valentine’s Day to express your love or appreciation to someone. Although, I made these mini Cherry filled pies to give away on Valentine’s Day, they can be done and given away anytime of the year. A heart represents love and everyone needs love. Love comes in many forms and you can also express it in your writings, songs, gifts, and even in baking.

So, in baking these beautiful mini pies I showed my family an expression of my love by taking time and making them.

Let’s get to the steps in achieving them.

Ingredients:

1 can of Cherry Filling
1 box of ready made pie crust
1 Egg for an egg wash consisting of 2 Tb of milk or water
1 pastry brush to spread egg wash with

Supplies:

1 mini heart cookie cutter

1 Fork

1 knife or pizza slicer to cut dough into squares

Parchment paper

1 baking tray

Step 1:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees

Step 2:

Cut your thawed pie crust into mini squares into equal pieces

Take half of the squares and punch out mini hearts in the center with the cookie cutter

Step 3:

Put Cherry filling on the squares without the punch outs then lay over the square with the heart punch out on top and crimp edges with a fork.

Step 4: Place a parchment sheet on baking tray and place your pies on them

Step 5: Egg wash each pie with pastry brush around the edges

Step 6: Put in oven and bake for 15 min or until golden

Step 7: Let them cool on a platter

Step 8: wrap in a small piece of parchment paper and put in gift bags

Step 9: Share the Love and stay tuned for more on the Color Wheel Gallery 💕
